For millennia, the Hindus in India were using the planets and stars to get an accurate prediction of the future and confirmation of the past. The Hindu astrology outlines the features of a person depending on the place and the time of birth which then corresponds to a star and its own distinct traits.
Some of the planets are thought to be good for folk and some are thought to be bad for person’s life. An example would be that if a person’s horoscope is influenced greatly by the planet Saturn, then there is a tendency for that person to go through lot of suffering. As specified in the Hindu Vedas, the life of a person is chock-full of joy and sorrows. One cannot have a life full of joy or full of sorrow.

There are a number of remedies given to ease the suffering when someone goes through suffering due to bad planetary positions. The Hindu Vedas states that an individual must perform Pariharams in Hindu temples. Some of the more famous temples for this practice include Tirupathi, Tiruchendur, Tajore Siva, Varanasi, Puttahbarthi, Sai Baba, Palani, Kalahasthi, Thirunallar, Panjavadi, Guruvayur, Kumbakonam, Thiruvarur, Nagarcoil as well as the temples in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Also, bathing in the holy Ganges River is also said to relieve suffering.
Many of these Pariharams mention many Hindu Gods such as Krishna, Ganesha, Karthikeya, Shiva, Vishnu, kali and Linga as those one can pray to in order to alleviate suffering.
