Extra Software for Your iPod

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

If you’re using just iTunes software with your iPod, you could seriously be missing out. Sure iTunes is pretty great and free from major defects and bugs, but there are certain things that you can’t do with iTunes that you’d be able to do if you were using extra software for your iPod.

For instance, iTunes doesn’t allow music sharing between devices or computers. You can easily burn a CD for your friend to listen to, but you can’t automatically get music from your computer to his, and you also can’t transfer music from one iPod to another very easily. This makes recommending music to your friends kind of a drag because you either have to get them to buy the music you like or burn them a CD that they can listen to on their own.

Also, you can’t take music from your iPod and put it on your computer, which is usually not a problem but can be a pain if you get a new computer or if you get a virus and lose all your valuable music files. Just think how easy it would be to repopulate your iTunes lists if you could take the music straight from your iPod to your computer!

The great part is that there’s software out there that lets you do all this. In fact, you can easily copy iPod to PC, which means that you can easily get your music back onto your computer if your files disappear. This also means that sharing music is simple. Instead of burning a CD, you just load your music onto a friend’s computer, and your friend can then play the music on her computer or upload it to her iPod and take it anywhere. This software pretty much fills in all the gaps that iTunes leaves so that you can do just about anything with your iPod.
